Behold the Gerry-Mander! A dreaded monster more fearsome than the Jabberwock. This political cartoon decrying the evils of gerrymandering comes from a Boston newspaper in 1812, yet more than two-hundred years later the practice remains a serious concern for American democracy.

As Ohio begins its redistricting process following the 2020 census, join Laura Joseph of the League of Women Voters at 5 pm Thursday October 7 at the Downtown Newark location of the Library for a discussion of the voter-approved steps the state of Ohio is taking to prevent the Gerry-Mander from raising its gruesome head again!
